The West Michigan Orthotropics Study Centre is the home of the West Michigan Study Club, formed officially in 1983 to learn more about the concept of growth guidance and create awareness of its benefits. The founding members dedicated themselves to the study of growth guidance many years ago and continue to seek a deeper understanding of the body, its proper growth patterns and how best to help re-establish them.
Karen O’Rourke, DDS
Dr. O’Rourke graduated from the University of Michigan and completed a one year GPR hospital residency there. She practices 3 days a week treating patients of all ages, special needs patients, doing the full range of general dentistry; including growth guidance and now snoring/sleep apnoea. She is a founding member and secretary of the NAAFO.
Wyland Gibbs, DDS,MS
Dr. Gibbs graduated in 1959 from the University of Michigan Dental School with a DDS degree. He graduated in 1962 from University of Michigan Rackham School of Graduate Studies with an MS degree in Orthodontics. He began private orthodontic practice in 1962 and began using the Biobloc Technique in 1985.
